Medicine Disposal

We can safely and professionally dispose of any unwanted or out of date medicines you may have at home. If you can't return them yourself contact us and one of our delivery drivers should be able to collect them from you. If your medicines change, return your old medicines to avoid mixing them up with your new medicines. Don't stockpile medication, it is a safety risk for yourself, and for children or others who might take them.

Medicines have expiry dates so you know when to use them by. After the expiry date medicines may not be safe, or may lose some or all of their effectiveness. If you’ve had a medicine for a while, check the expiry date before using it.

The expiry date usually means that you shouldn’t take the medicine after the end of the month given. So if the expiry date is ‘January 2018’, you shouldn’t take the medicine after 31st January 2018. You should also make sure you’ve stored the medicine properly. If your medicine looks, tastes or smells different to when you first got it, even if it’s within the expiry date, take it to your pharmacist for advice. Never dispose of medicines down the toilet or sink. Medicines disposed of in this way can become a hazard to the environment and water supply.
